Has anyone had any experience in utilizing the safety module in Maximo? Currently the corporate Safety Department has all of our different facilities developing JSA's for task. We have found that JSA's are not getting attached to work orders. Also linked documents for JSA's are seldom used. We would like to start utilizing the safety module in Maximo but are finding it very difficult to enlist the co-operation from the safety department to begin utilizing this feature. Anyone that has had experience with getting buy in from safety please give us have some feedback from your experiences.

I can certainly relate to this issue. As a CMMS site administrator for a former employer I was charged with ensuring that all maintenance related systems be converted to the "new" CMMS. It helped that the corporation put in writing that "the installation of the CMMS is a corporate initiative and all external systems (outside of CMMS) are to be eliminated unless a justification can be made otherwise". Not many could make that justification. In fact, when I think back on it, eventually NONE did. There were those departments, however, that felt they still needed to manage their "old" system, even though the information was now being duplicated.
Do you have a corporate initiative such as this that might help gain buy-in from the Safety department?
What steps have already been taken with your Safety department?
Any particular reasons the Safety department is being difficult?
Anyone else utilizing the Safety Module in Maximo? If so, do you have any tips or suggestions to offer?
